What Inspires You to Keep Going?

An Adidas billboard says, “A run, becomes a run, when you forget you’re running.”

What better place  to do that than Paradise!

Taking a yacht charter vacation doesn’t mean you have to put your health and fitness on hold. You may be on the water, but you are surrounded with fantastic opportunities to adhere to a foundation of less stress, physical activity and mental health.

Why are some individuals inspired to keep going?

A. [ The desire to explore the world with my husband when I retire, is what drives me forward. When I say explore, this includes hiking, climbing, swimming, biking etc. Exercising and keeping my body healthy is the only way to keep my dream alive.]
(Dr. Brittany Noel Robles – Healthline)

B. [ I believe in the saying “how you do one thing, you do everything” Fitness and exercise really embody this saying. Exercise provides structure and momentum throughout my week. It is the foundation of my productivity and creativity.]
(Ridge Davis – Healthline)

C. [ I practice yoga so that the daily stresses and difficulties have a way to release from my muscles and to reverse my reaction to stress. I practice yoga to train my mind not to be so habitual.] (Colleen  Saidman, Yee – Healthline)

Yacht Charter Vacations, give you the opportunity to unwind and escape from the stresses of everyday life, while continuing your fitness and health. Here are a few ways to stay active during your charter.

A. Explore paradise on foot. There are many locations to go ashore that have tropical hiking paths, historical sites or castles to be visited on foot, local festivities and celebrations. It is a low impact way of immersing yourself in the destinations local culture. Let us help you find the perfect adventure for your vacation.

B. Take advantage of the water toys that are on each boat, such as Stand-up paddleboards, which are excellent to tone your core/obliques. Snorkeling, which can improve overall strength and endurance and it reduces stress. Yoga mats, allows you to go to the bow of the boat, where the incredible breezes and scenery, will only enhance your experience and mental health. Stationary bikes and treadmills which helps you to build lean muscle while you burn calories. Not all charter boats have every piece of  equipment, but we have specific information about the equipment each yacht has to offer.

C. Other activities can be done on your boat or with a sports contracting company such as scuba diving, kite surfing or jet ski flyboards.

Enjoy your Vacation and the Delectable Food!

Before going on charter, we give our clients a preference sheet for food and activities. When you want  to be health conscious, you can make note of the items that you prefer, such as smoothies, chia seed oat meal, eggs, salads, fruit etc. The Chefs will go above and beyond to make that happen. Keep in mind, some locations might not have the exact item you are looking for, but they will do their best to find a comparable item for you. Also, take time to experience the culture and foods that these Chefs can provide, which is exemplary. Don’t deprive yourself, just keep the word moderation close at hand.

Because you are staying active, you probably won’t gain a pound. During the day, make sure you drink water and stay hydrated. Keep a refillable water bottle close by. Many of the catamarans and yachts on charter have the refillable bottles accessible for you and to keep the plastic bottles out of the ocean.

Slow down and enjoy the meals to experience the local flavors and dishes. And so you don’t feel deprived, choose to leave the junk foods alone and enjoy a special treat or mouth-watering dessert, one time a day. Then after dinner have a swim or walk or a nice hike the next morning. To fend off travel  fatigue or jet lag, try eating foods that are high in Tryptophan, Magnesium, melatonin or other nutrients  such as tuna, salmon, poultry, nuts, oatmeal, whole grain crackers and relatively unprocessed carbs, kiwis and bananas.

And if you do go a little overboard…NOT LITERALLY

Remember, just create a sense of balance instead of having an all or nothing attitude. Enjoy every minute of your vacation and then get back on pace when you arrive home.
