The British Virgin Islands’ NON STOP FLIGHTS TO THE BVI from Miami appears to be performing very well, exceeding early expectations for passenger demand. Moreover, the first modern-era flights between Miami and Tortola only launched a few weeks ago, and American Airlines already plans expansion. This winter, American Airlines will add a second daily nonstop flight between Miami (MIA) and Tortola’s Beef Island (EIS) Airport due to strong demand. Consequently, this increase represents a significant boost for the British Virgin Islands as it aims to recover tourism numbers from pre-pandemic levels. Additionally, the new daily flight is part of American Airlines’ largest-ever winter schedule to the Caribbean and Latin America, enhancing regional connectivity. Furthermore, the expansion reflects American Airlines’ ongoing effort to connect Miami to smaller, often harder-to-reach Caribbean airports such as Dominica and Anguilla.

“This coming winter we’re looking forward to adding more service to the destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean that our customers want to visit, including our newest destination, Tortola, ”José A. Freig, Vice President of Operations and Commercial for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.  “We are proud to strengthen our lead as the largest U.S. airline in the region, with more flights and seats to more destinations than any other single carrier or partnership.”

Overall, American Airlines will operate more than 2,250 weekly NON STOP FLIGHTS TO THE BVI and to 90 destinations across the wider Caribbean and Latin America region. This represents a 10 percent increase compared to the winter schedule of 2022, reflecting strong demand and strategic network growth. Initially, the second daily flight to Tortola will operate on a seasonal basis, according to the carrier’s official announcement. Meanwhile, the British Virgin Islands received another boost when Tradewind Aviation announced new nonstop flights between San Juan and Virgin Gorda. Consequently, this route provides a crucial connection to one of the Caribbean’s top luxury destinations, enhancing accessibility for charter and leisure travelers.
