How Much Does a Yacht Charter in the BVI Cost?

Below are the average charter rates and ranges for 2025/2026: Your broker should be able to help you with different seasons and different boats in order to help you meet your budget criteria. It is helpful to provide the broker with the number of guests, specific dates and budget, so they can better provide you with options that meet your wishes and criteria.

Catamaran Charters Sail or Power: $15,000 – $49,000 per week

Fully crewed catamarans that are popular for families and groups where budget friendly is important. In order to keep your charter budget on point, you can opt to bring more family, or friends to share the cost. Each boat has a maximum number of passengers allowed and your broker will provide that information to you. However, there are only a few boats in the BVI that have the capacity for 12 passengers. Professional crew usually range from 2 to 3 persons. Boat lengths range from 40ft to 62ft. These boats in the BVI are all inclusive, which includes, all meals based on your preferences, beverages, well cocktails, wine, beer, fuel, basic water toys, moorings, customs, immigration and cruising fees.

Luxury Catamarans Sail or Power: $50,000 – $115,000 per week

High-end multihulls combine style, space, opulence and luxurious amenities. The expert crew usually consists of 3 to 6 professionals. Boat lengths range from 64ft to 80ft. In the BVI, the majority of catamarans are all-inclusive, however there are a few management companies that have catamarans from Europe or the Mediterranean that charge the charter rate plus (APA advanced provisioning costs). Which separates base charter costs from operational expenses. This includes the food, beverages, cocktails, specialty cocktails, dockage, fuel, local taxes, and incidentals etc. The amount ranges from 25% to 35% of the charter rate, to be paid up front through your broker. The Captain will maintain the account of all expenditures during the charter and reconcile with you, the client at the end of the charter. The charter may owe an additional amount or could possibly be due a refund based on their spending during charter. Your broker will notify you if the boat is all-inclusive or APA.

Sailing Yachts: $12,000 – $45,000 per week

Ideal for traditional sailors seeking a classic wind-powered experience. Monohulls are a special niche for those devoted sailors out there. At a minimum there is a Captain and Chef, that truly appreciate the participation of the clients onboard. The monohulls range from 38ft to 200ft. In the BVI there are both all-inclusive charters, as well as APA charters. If the boat is offering the APA option, the amount is usually around 20% of the charter rate.

Luxury Motor Yachts: $40,000 – $250,000+ per week.

A luxury motor yacht length ranges from 60ft to 144ft. The yacht normally has advance stabilizers to minimize rolling while underway or at anchor. The normal beam ranges 18ft to 26ft, allowing ample space to move around the yacht.
